James E. Evans, Jr., 62, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Midland Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:00AM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. James was born on July 13, 1949 to James and Laverne Evans in Laurel, Mississippi. He married the love of his life Joyce on October 29, 1969 in Snyder, Texas. He loved to be with his family but most of all the ones that called him "PawPaw". His grandchildren were his life. He was always making sure he taught them different things so that they could carry the traditions of the Evans family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, growing his garden and in his last years he enjoyed Texas Holdem Poker. James never met a stranger he was one that everyone loved. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.Survivors include wife, Joyce Evans; son, James and wife Melissa Evans; daughter, Maxine and husband RJ Fields; 5 grandsons, Brandon, Jeffery, Ranger, and Trayce Fields and Hunter Evans; 4 granddaughters, Brittaney Fields, Ashlyn Evans, Macy Evans, and Kyler Fields.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
