James E. Beaird, 84, of Big Spring, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rivers Francis, officiating.He was born April 15, 1930 in Caddo, Oklahoma and married Frances Joyce Bryant June 14, 1967 in Breckenridge, Texas.James graduated from high school in Kenefice, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy from August 1950 to June 1958. He worked in the oil field for a number of years and had worked in Civil Service at Webb Air Force Base and at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, retiring after 24 years of service. James enjoyed working with leather, making wallets and purses. He also enjoyed fishing. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather.Survivors include his wife, Frances Beaird of Big Spring; three sons, Kenneth Imler and wife, Cathy, Phillip Imler and wife, Debbie, and Billy Lee and wife, Kathy all of Odessa; one daughter, Ann Francis and husband, Rivers of Odessa; two brothers, Wayne Beaird of Kilgore and Zane Beaird of Abilene; four sisters, Joyce Lockhart, Wanda Abraham, Stella Sanders and Shelia Flournier all of Breckenridge; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to any organization that benefits veterans.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
