Just happened to check the Obits online and saw Jim's. I am sorry to hear about your loss. I worked at Walker Auto Parts with Jim in the mid 70's. He taught me a lot and was a pleasure to work with. He had a dry wit and we laughed a lot. Great memories of times long gone by.

Jean: We are so sorry to learn of your loss. Glen Strickland mention that you had lost Jim when I talked with him last week. Then, I read his obit in the Rotan paper this week. I think I last saw Jim at Dick Edwards' funeral several years ago in Rotan, and remember that he or somone said that you all lived in Big Spring. Jim and I were both born in 1933, and we ocassionally saw him around Rotan, before we moved down to Corpus Christi. I remember you from our Roby school days, and also remember your dad's name and where you all lived out near Cross Roads. Those days had to be most of a hundred years ago. I lost my mother this year on March 1st, just a little over two weeks after my sister Patsy passed away on February 12th. Mother was 98, and Pat was 73. Handling all of their affairs in such close order, from a distance of almost 900 miles has been a challenge. Jean, blessings to you and your family during this time. May the Lord be especilally close and comfort you all. I pray that you all are well and will remain that way. Max

Dearest Jean, I just got the Rotan paper and read the sad article about Jim. We loved you and Jim so very much through the years. It doesn't seem possible how quickly the years pass. I know how much you two loved the Lord, and in the long run, that's all that really matters! I also remember so fondly the times Carroll and I played 84 with your mom and dad!!! Arlon always said of Verona.."I can't do so- and- so...she will 'chastise' me".....We have laughed about that many times!! Precious Memories! Won't Heaven be wonderrul??? I pray for God's comfort in the sad days ahead. Wanda

Mrs. Huckaby I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Huckaby was such a nice man. The first time he met my daughter last year (she's 3 now) he pulled a quarter out of her ear and she thought he was magic! She told me, "that's my Mr. Huckaby". His smile will be greatly missed.
