James A. "Jack" Norris went home to his Heavenly Father on November 12, 2009. Jack was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 25, 1929. His parents were H.H. and Gladys Norris, both deceased. As a young boy, his family moved to the Houston area. When he went to Abilene Christian University, he met the love of his life, Peggy Hays. They were married on December 19, 1952. They spent most of their married lives in the state of Nevada as teachers and missionaries of the Church of Christ. They retired to Midland in 1992 to be near two of their daughters and grandchildren.Survivors besides his wife, are three daughters, Debra (Debbie) Mason and husband Kelly and Deana (Dee) Vaughan and husband Kelly, both of Midland, and Dixi Montooth and husband Chris of Fallon, Nevada.He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren; Aaron Mason, Nathan Mason, Jessica Mason, Katie Vaughan, and Kylie Vaughan, all of Midland.He is also survived by a sister, Lena Armstrong and husband Ralph of Bryan; nieces and nephews, Dr. Faye Armstrong Paap of Odessa, Beth Thomas, Wayne Armstrong, and Ruth Combs.Jack loved his Lord and stood firm on the Bible as the Word of God. He and his immediate family are members of Golf Course Road Church of Christ.Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gathering Space at Golf Course Road Church of Christ.
