Jackie Lee Touchstone, 84 of Big Spring, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. A celebration of life will be Saturday, July 1, 2023 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Reception Center. No funeral services will be held at his request.

Jackie Touchstone was born in Big Spring, Texas to Jack and Bertha Owen Touchstone. He served in the National Guard with active-duty service during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a Shriner, Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rights. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and Hunter and loved his life, family, and friends. He retired from TXU/Oncor in 1992 after working 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Luan Touchstone of 65 years, sons Ricky Touchstone, and Rusty Touchstone. Grandchildren Ryan Touchstone, Nicole Touchstone, Jackie Touchstone, Melissa Rubio, Leilani and Jimmy McArthur. Great grandchildren Noah Touchstone, Gabriel Asuncion, Rafael Rubio, Isiah Touchstone, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Joann Low, Tommie Bronson, Carolyn Walker, Margaret Touchstone, Georgia Rosser, and his parents Jack and Bertha Owen Touchstone.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards UMC staff and especially the comfort care unit at UMC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s or Shriners Children Hospital.

What a sweet man! Jackie and Luan were great citizens, parents and friends! I always admired their love for one another and for the great sons they raised! Big Spring is better for having Jackie in its midst. He will be missed!

My deepest condolences. The older I get the more I realize just how short life is . To all who knew Jacky had a friend for life .

As you can tell by our ages, we were BSHS friends and ALWAYS will have wonderful memories of Jackie and our BSHS years.

Our thoughts and condolences for Luan and the familes

You and your family are in my thoughts as you grieve the loss of Jackie. I wish you peace and comfort.

I want to tell Luan and the family how sorry I am for the loss of Jackie. Jackie was the best friend that I ever had. He was the big brother I never had. We were fishing partners for 49 years and I loved and enjoyed every minute of our time together. Luan said the reason we got along so well was because we were so much alike. She never how high a compliment that was. The three greatest men in my life have been my Grandfather, my Dad and Jack Touchstone. I could write a best selling book on the things Jackie and I did. One thing I want Luan and the Boys to know is I count the times Jackie told me how much he loved each of you and how proud he was of his family. I will miss him until I join him.

So Very Sad to hear this news. Even with so many years past since my family lived in Big Spring I can still remember spending time at the Touchstones house and my Dad working with Mr. Touchstone. Sending my thoughts and prayers to your entire family during this time of loss. God Bless
