Jackie Jackson Luxton, 78, passed away at Senior Care in Midland on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Jackie was born in San Saba, Texas on August 22, 1936, grew up in Wickett, graduated high school in Monahans, and married her husband Ray in Monahans in June 1954 (a week out of high school). Jackie worked long hours as a housewife in a number of jobs – handing out task lists, referee, chief cook and bottle washer, neighborhood house for all the kids to congregate, nurse, counselor, and beloved wife and Mother. Jackie loved her family, her dogs, practical jokes, talking to her sister every morning and arguing some point, and laughing with her Sunday School classmates.Jackie was preceded in death by Ray, her husband of 57 years. Jackie is survived by her two girls, Laurie Franklin of Midland and Rhonda Lea of Denton; son in laws Greg Franklin and Allen Lea; sister Janette Nobles of Midland; nephews and nieces, and two grandchildren.We will celebrate Jackie’s life in a memorial service on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, 2:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church (100 W 50th St in Odessa) with Bro. Clydel Chapman officiating. Nalley-Pickle & Welch is handling the arrangements. Jackie’s family thanks all the doctors and nurses that have been involved in her care, the staff at Senior Care in Midland, the hospice team, and the numerous friends that offered help in a variety of ways. Laurie and Rhonda are so grateful for all that Laurie’s life-long friends, Kay Kendall and Marianne Lee, did for Jackie and the family.
