Jack M. Griffin, Jr., 76, of Paint Rock, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Jack was born May 26, 1945 in Big Spring, Texas to JoNell (Faulkenberry) Griffin and Jack M. Griffin, Sr. He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1964. He joined the United States Navy in 1966, where he served on a destroyer for 9 years. During this time, he fought in the Vietnam War. He married Sandra Bick on April 24, 1971. Jack worked at Cosden/Alon Refinery for 31 years until he retired in 2007. After retiring, Jack spent most of his time at Lake O.H. Ivie fishing.
His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of his life. Watching his grandkids ballgames was at the top of his list of things to do. His second love was bass fishing.
Jack leaves behind his wife Sandy Griffin; two daughters: Paige Jackson and husband Joey and Angela Griffin; his grandchildren: Shaylee Franks, Ricky Prater, Blade Franks, Kole Jackson and Brodie Jackson and his great granddaughters: Oaklyn Gutierrez and Denver Gutierrez; two brothers: Jim Griffin and wife Cathy and Bob Griffin and one sister Teresa Fenton and husband Steve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law Sherry Griffin; a son-in-law Ricky Prater, Sr. and numerous aunts and uncles.
