J W Holt, 71, of Stanton, died on Friday, July 14, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring with Chaplain Joe Torres of Home Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.He was born on May 1, 1935, in Coleman, Texas. He married Frances Tilley and she preceded him in death in September 21, 1998. He then married Louise Luxton in 2000.Mr. Holt worked in various occupations, mostly in construction, and owned and operated his own construction business with his brother. He also had owned a trucking company.He loved horses and working on cars, but his greatest love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Louise Holt of Stanton; a son & daughter-in-law, Michael and Becki Holt of Stanton; a daughter & son-in-law, Frances and Thomas Hodges of Big Spring; a brother and sister-in-law, G W and Jackie Holt of California; three grandsons, Ernie Taggart of Big Spring, Chase Holt and Cody Holt both of Stanton; a great grandson, J. T. Taggart of Big Spring and a great granddaughter, Elizabeth Reeh of Big Spring; two step-sons, Billy Luxton and wife, Tammy and their children, Justin and Dillan and Tony Luxton and wife, Karen and their children, Jacee and Tanner; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was also preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Goolsby Holt; three brothers, Jack, Pee Wee and George; and one sister, Edith Simmons.The family suggests memorials to Home Hospice, 111 E. 7th St., Suite A, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
