J Dow Scott Jr

J Dow Scott, Jr., long time Midland Chiropractor, passed away on August 2, 2026 at the age of 93. A viewing will be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Wednesday, August 5^th, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. The family will receive guests from 3:00pm to 5:00pm that same day. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, August 6^th, 2026 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Dow was born on March 6^th, 1933 to Drs. J Dow, Sr. and Velma Scott. His family moved to Midland where he attended Midland High School. After graduation, he attended Schreiner Institute until 1953 and then joined the army in 1954 where he served his country in Wurzburg, Germany as an aircraft radio repairman.

On October 27^th, 1956, he married his sweetheart Mary Wohler and together they had 4 children: J Dow (JD), Susan, Toya, and Bob.

He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend, baseball and softball coach, fishing buddy and chiropractor.

Dow is survived by his daughter Toya, his son Bob, daughters-in-law Lisa and Sandy, his sisters Jan Pilon, Sonora Olin, and Kay Tanswell, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, his son J Dow Scott III (JD), his daughter Susan Glasgow, his grandsons JD Scott IV (Will) and Tucker Glasgow and his brother Paul Scott.

The family would like to thank Angel’s Care Hospice, the staff of Parks Senior Living, and Dr. Sapna Chilka for their dedication to his comfort and care during his final stages of Alzheimer’s.
