J. C. Ringener, 75, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 16, 2007, at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating and Kenneth Womack, from McKinney, assisting. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.J. C. was born on January 15, 1932, in Smith County, Texas and lived in Big Spring for most of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged in 1960. J. C. worked in civil service at Webb AFB until his retirement in 1972. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.He married Maurine Chapman on July 3, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas and she preceded him in death on May 14, 1977. He later married Nell Harris in 1987 and she passed away in 1998. He then married Emma Pitts on January 8, 2000 in Big Spring.Survivors include his wife, Emma Ringener of Big Spring; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sue Ringener of Breckenridge; a daughter and son-in-law, Clarice and Greg Birrell of Big Spring; a daughter-in-law, Letha Ringener of Lamesa; four step-daughters, Paula Sosebee and husband, Britt of Amarilllo, Julie Stewart and husband, Frankie of San Antonio, Delores Perkins and husband, Earnest of Ft. Stockton and Tina Gray and husband, Troy of Abilene; five grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; fifteen step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Arlene Ringener of Roby; a sister-in-law, Lynell Ringener of Big Spring; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leo and Viola Smith of Lindale and numerous other relatives.He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary Ringener; his father, Howard Ringener; his mother, Clara Johnson Ringener; three brothers, Floyd Ringener, Loyd Ringener, William Martin Ringener; and one sister, Audrey Smith.The family suggests memorials be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 810 East 11th Place, Big Spring, TX 79720, or to a favorite charity.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
