Isidore “Izzy” P. Anaya, 71, of Midland passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born July 12, 1942 to Louis and Yselia Vigil Anaya.Izzy was seventh of 14 brothers and sisters. They are many rich and fun memories of his upbringing from Vaughn to Clovis. New Mexico that will be shared as we celebrate his “Going Home” service.He placed a special order to God for his wife at 10 years of age and found her in a Clovis beauty pageant and married Pat Martinez In November 22, 1966. She has always been his queen. They were married 48 years at the time of his death.Izzy was in the U.S. Army in 1965 and served in Korea until 1967.He graduated from Clovis High School 1962 where he played on the State Championship Wildcat team. He was in Glee Club and an all-around athlete. He later graduated from Midland College in 1982.Izzy worked for InterNorth, which later became ENRON for 38 ½ years.Shortly after retirement, he found himself at his favorite job at Midland Memorial Hospital at first as a Valet and then Ambassador until May1, 2014.He was involved in Jail Ministry in Midland for 34 years and translated at the Community of Praise (Comunidad Alabara). His passion was to love people and spread the “Good News”.He is survived by his wife, Pat and two children, Mitsy and Peter; Son-in-law, George Veloz, II; two grand-daughters, Divinity and Ivy Veloz and his beloved Pekinese, Dusty. As well as his siblings: 4 brothers and two sisters living: Eddie, Paul, Frank, Bart, Helen Garcia and Barbara Anayaand many precious nieces and nephews and their children. Along with his sister-in-law, Alice Robles and her children, April Pando, Chuck Robles his wife Jaime their children, Lance, Brandon, Bradley, Marissa, Lauren, and lil’ Chuck.Izzy had a sense of humor, he owned a beautiful smile and heart and he served the Lord well. He will be missed yet, we know he is dancing before the Lord as we speak.“Memorial Services” will be at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring St., Midland, TX. 79705 at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014.
