Inez West, 93, of Big Spring, died on Monday, February 23, 2009, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Rev. Wes Massey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Coahoma, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.She was born on September 1, 1915, in Como, Texas. She married H. L. "Luke" West and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1972.Inez came to Big Spring in 1938 from Hobbs, New Mexico. She and her husband owned and operated Coahoma Cleaners for a number of years. She then worked at the Big Spring State Hospital for 10 years.She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coahoma.Survivors include two daughters, Donna McIntosh and Bessie Stoker both of Big Spring; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Sonny West and John West; one grandson, J. D. West; and two sisters, Jessie Ruth Frances and Lucille Fletcher. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Coahoma, P.O. I will never forget the memories of these three sisters. From the sweet hugs to the wonderful food at Sunday Fellowships at Sand Springs. The heart of Sister Inez was so golden, as for Lucille and Jessie Ruth. I remember going over to their house with my dad and brothers and roofing or doing air conditioner work for these ladies. Also, every christmas, reading the wonderful christmas cards she would send. She is home at last, in the Golden Mansion that has been waiting for her.
