Inez Grant Shivers, 89, went to be with her heavenly Father on her birthday, Friday, December 19, 2014. Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.She was born December 19, 1925 in Howard County, Texas to Mollie and Emmitt Crittenden. She married Jim C. Grant January 25, 1941 and they were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Celia, Linda and Sue.Inez worked outside the home for many years in banking and retail and she enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, sports and outdoor activities.Jim preceded her in death and she later married Howard L. Shivers. He preceded her in death in 2007.Inez lived most of her life in Big Spring. She was a Baptist and she spent many good times with her children, grandchildren and dear friends. She was loved by all who knew her.She is survived by her daughters, and sons-in-law, Celia and Johnie Williams, Linda Davidson and Sue and Chuck Carey; her sister, Dot Gay and husband, Dale; three brothers, twins George Crittenden and wife, Nita and James Crittenden and Don Crittenden; 17 grandchildren, Rodney and Andrea Davidson, Marty and Becky Terry, Jana Terry, Kevin and Kim Davidson, Eric and Renee Renshaw, Grant and Anita Davidson, Mike and Erin Carey, Danny Carey, Michelle Coutermarsh, Jim McDonald and Katrina Williams; 19 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Ryan, Kynzi, Sarah, Rance, Rebekah, Caleb, Taylor, Kendall, Carter, Lyndee, Annabelle, Jessica, Heather, Jonathan, Raymond, Becky, Bradley and Benjamin; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, Case, Grayson, Michael, Cassidy, Joshua, Scotti, Michael, Jeffery, Emily and Taylor.In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma Shaffer, Eunice Winn and Charlene Shipp; and her brothers, Curtis, Eugene, Robert and Morris Crittenden; and a great-grandson, Scott Simpson.The family suggests memorials to any charity that benefits veterans or to a favorite charity.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
