I. L. "Lou" Burchett Wright, 70, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of Springcreek Fellowship, officiating.The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.She was born on January 30, 1937, in Howard County, Texas and married John Elmer Wright, Jr. on April 4, 1958 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2007.Lou was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1955. While in school she was a member of the 1954 district champion volleyball team and was named to the All State Volleyball team as a spiker in 1955. She then attended Howard County Junior College, where she played both basketball and volleyball.She worked as a secretary at Webb Air Force Base for 16 years, until it closed, then worked at the V. A. Medical Center for 16 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed sports and traveling and loved her family and the time they spent together. She was attending Springcreek Fellowship.Survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law, Johnny E. and Shara Wright of Midland and Steven and Robin Wright of Big Spring; one grandson, Gentry Wright of Midland; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and George Rogers of San Angelo; one brother, Jerry Burchett of Onalaska, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Burchett.The family suggests memorials to Dora Roberts Rehabilitation Center, P. O. To Lou's Family I wish to send my condolences. Lou was a special person with a ready smile for everyone. She brightened the court with her smile and exercised great sportmanship at all times.

I ws so sorry and shocked to hearing of Lou's passing. I knew her all of my life. We were in the same church as children and in the same schools even through HcJc. We had connected again in the last few years through internet. I enjoyed visiting with her and hearing from her. I can only imagine the loss that you feel at this time . Your family is in my prayers.

To Lou's family: I am so sorry for your loss. Lou and I were friends at Howard County Junior College . I always enjoyed her friendship. She was always so friendly when we would sometimes see each other as we were shopping and visit for a few minutes. God bless youall. I know she meant so much to all of you as you did to her. I have known Louise for many years, in High School and working as teenagers at C.R. Anthony's. We had so much fun back in the old days. I remember her as that tall volleyball player that could spike the ball like no one else could, you didn't want to get in the way of that ball.She was a special friend. I am so sorry for the family's loss of Louise and Johnny.

Having played online pinochle with Ina for 9 years, we all felt like she was the sweetest lady. We will miss her terribly and hope the family and friends who knew her in life reach peace.
