Ina “Irene” Fields GarrettIrene Garrett was greeted in Heaven by Jesus and many loved ones on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Irene was born on April 30, 1932 to James F. and Mary Eula Fields in Iatan, Texas. She grew up attending Elementary School in Snyder, Texas and eventually graduated in 1948 from Odessa High School. She spent her young adult years in the role of mother to her three children Donna, Bud and Mooser. She worked for Commercial Credit Corp. in Odessa for 21 years and a short period of time for A-1 Mobile Homes before retiring in 1991. She was a very talented woman and spent her retirement years watching her grandchildren play sports and raise their families, painting, sewing, quilting, making dolls, and spending as much time as possible with her family.Irene is preceded in death by her Father James F. Fields, her mother Mary Eula Whitaker Fields, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, and her beloved son Charles “Mooser” Merrick.She is survived by her husband Bob Saunders Garrett, Her children: Donna Burkart of Midland; Kenneth “Bud” and Patty Merrick of Gardendale; Sharon Merrick of Monahans; Mark and Teresa Garrett of Carrolton, Her grandchildren: Stan Burkart of Plano; John and Kriste Burkart of Midland; Brandi Burkart of Midland; Jason and Jennifer Merrick of Monahans; Marissa and Donovan Willis of Austin; Sean Merrick of Monahans; Patrick Merrick of Gardendale; Tyler Garrett and Colton Garrett of Carrolton. Great grandchildren: Hailey, Aleigh and Brylee Merrick, Ryker Garrett and Harper Charles Willis. She also leaves behind 3 sisters: Lillie Altman of Seattle; Pauline Couch of Longview and Faye Baker of Andrews.The Celebration Service will be held at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Nalley Pickle and Welch Chapel.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Star Health Hospice in Odessa.,
