Ina Allen Jones, 105, of Stanton, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton with Rev.David Harp, officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 20, from 6 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home. She was born on March 13, 1902 to Tilmon and Lovie Allen, in Palmer, Texas and married Paul K. Jones on April 15, 1938 in Odessa, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1979.Mrs. Jones graduated from Rice High School in 1918. She attended college at North Texas State in Denton and taught school in Corsicana, Rice and other surrounding schools. She then attended Sul Ross State College graduating August 22, 1936 with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a homemaker and retired Math and English teacher. Mrs. Jones loved spending the winters in South Texas, living in Weslaco for 22 years. She enjoyed traveling and visiting new places and experiencing life. At the age of 100 years she took her first motorcycle ride. She also loved being with her family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stanton. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John Calvin and Patsy Jones and Paul Allen and Carolyn Jones all of Stanton; 6 grandchildren, John Clayborn and his wife, Sonya Jones and Michael Jones all of Stanton, Jennifer and her husband, Larry Key of Las Vegas, Nevada, Paula Jones of Lubbock, Cody Lee and his wife, Diana Jones of Amarillo, Stepanie and her husband Scott Asher of Lubbock; 7 great grandchildren, Kesley, Haley and John Kelly Jones all of Stanton, Courtney, Caitlyn and Chase Key all of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brandon Jones of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Music Department , P.O. Box 1168, Stanton, Texas 79782 or to Home Hospice, 901 W. Missouri, Midland, Texas 79701.
