Services for Imogene Vines of Midland, Texas are scheduled for 2:00pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Bellview Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Imogene went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning at her home of 72 years.
She was born Christmas Day of 1923 in Bishop, Texas to Elmer and Treatie Cole. In 1941, she graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Texas.
Imogene met Troy Vines in San Angelo, Texas and they were married there on August 22, 1942. They lived in multiple Texas towns prior to moving to Midland in 1950 where they raised ten children. Imogene worked alongside her husband as they built their family businesses, Troy Vines Masonry in 1955, which evolved into Troy Vines Concrete in 1976.
After retiring in the 1980’s, she enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals, fishing, and traveling. In 1993, Imogene bought her lake house on Oak Creek. It was here that many precious memories were made with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Cotton Flat Baptist Church and a lifetime member of MISD PTA.
Imogene’s door was always open. You may have entered as a stranger, but you left as family. She leaves a legacy of love.
She is survived by her children; Sandra McKaskle of Midland; Dale Vines and wife Nancy of Midland; Johnnie Vines and wife Sandra of Midland; Cheryl Casbeer and husband Will of Greenwood; Jody Vines and wife Becky of Midland; Mark Vines and partner Tony Panian, Jr. of Blackwell, Texas; Cindi Goodman and partner Bobby Merriman of Blackwell, Texas: Tracy Vines and wife Sherri of Midland; Stacy Vines and wife Robyn of Midland; her brothers, Tommy Cole and wife Collene of Snyder, Texas; Lanny Cole and wife Madaline of Midland, Texas; her sister, Olene Mason of Branson, Missouri. She is also survived by her 28 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Treatie Cole; husband, Troy Vines; son, Greg Vines; sisters Irene Monk and Inez Caston; brothers, Lawrence Cole and Johnny Cole; grandson, Josh Vines; great-grandsons, Liam Edward Frasier and Blake Cole Frasier; granddaughter-in-law, Scherrie McKaskle; daughter-in-law, Debbie Vines; sons-in-law, Pete McKaskle and Gary Goodman.
Pallbearers will be her oldest grandsons: Ricky McKaskle, Shane Vines, Jay McKaskle, Tommy Cole, Lanny Dale Vines, Scott Casbeer, Jimmy Vines, and Heath Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandsons: Kenneth Casbeer, Casey Vines, Chaney Vines, Garrett Goodman, Monty Goodman, Cade Vines, Cole Frasier, Keaton Vines, and Hank St. John.
