Imogene Mitchell Carmichael Hammond, 84, of Big Spring, died on Friday, May 13, 2005, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2005 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Mike Riggins, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Ackerly, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.She was born on August 21, 1920, in Parker County, Texas and was married to Watson Hammond. He preceded her in death in 1985.Mrs. Hammond moved to West Texas as a young child and attended schools at Flower Grove. She attended beauty school and worked in Lamesa for several years. Imogene had also worked one year at the Gatesville State School for Girls. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Ackerly.Survivors include one son, Donald Carmichael of Point; two daughters, Martha Stone of Ackerly and Geneice Roberts of San Angelo; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, M. T. and Murl Molinda Mitchell, one son, Kenneth Carmichael, four brothers and four sisters including; Beulah Lillard, Jane Beckmeyer and Lorene Cave, and one grandson, Jason Carmichael.The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
