Imogene Davis Clingman was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Monday, May 30, 2016. Mother was born on November 3, 1927 in Farmington, Arkansas to A.D. and Icie Davis. She was the second child of five children. Mother's family moved to Walters, Oklahoma when she was two years old. She attended school in Walters where she graduated from high school 1945. She worked at the telephone office while waiting for Daddy to come home from World War II.Mother married Henry Clingman on June 23, 1946. They were married 66 years before Daddy passed away in February 2013. Mother was the loving, supportive mother of four children: Jean Ann, Rita Kay, David Ford and Sue Ellen. She made our clothes, supported our school and church activities and sporting events. While Daddy was on the job, many times for days or weeks at a time, Mother gave us the security of a safe home. When our family moved to Midland in 1959 we joined the fellowship of Crestview Baptist Church. Mother served in the fourth grade Sunday School Department for approximately 40 years. In 1974 she began her job outside the home as the cook for the Crestview Day Care. She also prepared the Wednesday night church family meal. Her chocolate sheet cake was always a hit.Mother is survived by her three daughters: Jean Ann Clingman of Midland, Rita Brandon and Charlie of Lakehills, Texas and Sue Holley and Doug of Meadowlakes, Texas. She is the proud grandmother of Megan Aylor and Rob, Kati Grimsley and Andy, Garet Holley and Tesia and Sara Holley. Her five great-grandchildren were her delight in recent years: Jude Gonzales, Sawyer and Emeri Holley and Henry and Adeline Grimsley. She is also survived by her sister Ramona Williams and husband Robert of Midland, and her brother A.D. \Tommy\ Davis and wife Marilyn of Bethany, Oklahoma, and brother-in-law Roger Hess of Mustang, Oklahoma.Mother was preceded in death by her husband Henry Clingman, her son David Clingman, her great granddaughter Hope Grimsley, her parents and her sisters, Melba Buzzingham and Nancy Hess. Our family would like to thank Mothers' special caregiver Rhonda Harris, the Wound Care Clinic at Midland Memorial Hospital, the Home Hospice Staff, the nurses and doctors at Midland Memorial Hospital and the nurses and physical therapists from Encompass Home Health for their kind and gentle care of our mother. We could not have made this lengthy journey without TACMed medical transport service.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Mother's graveside service will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Resthaven Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers please make all donations to Home Hospice of Midland. ,
