Ima Jean Hudgins Chandler, 81, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009.Ms. Jean was a lady and a survivor she was born and raised in San Angelo, TX. She married Wendell (Bill) Chandler on November 29, 1946. He was the love of he life and they were blessed with 58 years together. She had 3 Children, Vicci, Doug, and Chrissy. Her door was always open to the multitude of kids, neighbors, in-laws, out-laws, stray dogs, cats, and friends. Whoever came was greeted with a smile, a cup of coffee and whatever pastry she had baked! She raised a family, worked at Angelo Surplus, and Apartment Manger for Parkway Apartments. Her true profession was to be a homemaker, a wife, and mother. She loved her husband, her home and her family. Ms. Jean was diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease and spent the last years of her life at Rockwood Manor, she was cared for by the wonderful Nursing Staff and Aides there. For those of you who knew her you know that funerals were not her thing. Her wish was to be buried beside her husband Wendell in Grape Creek Cemetery. She was a Christian and has gone to be with her family in Heaven. (A message from Jean) To My Loved OnesLive your life!Love your family! I love you all.She is survived by her daughter Vicci and Terry Forrest of Midland; 3 grandchildren Wendi Lesley, Joshua Mellas of Midland; and Amber Canning of Cepitan, NM; 3 great grandchildren Crystalin Lambert, Johnny Lesley, Mollie Canning; 2 sister-in-laws Dorthy and Herb Hirata of Grape Creek; Alta and Mike Holt of Big Spring; 2 brother-in-laws Johnny Johnson, JB McWhorter, many precious nieces, nephews, friends, and adopted children in her heart.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell (Bill Chandler), her son W.D.(Doug) Chandler, daughter Christine Chandler, 5 sisters Edna Seals, Margaret McWhorter, Minnie Dwrham, Berniece Dougherty, and Shirley JohnsonFamily request that memorials be sent to Alzheimer Assoc. or charity of your choice.
