Ila L. Pettit, 92, of Stanton, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the White Deer Cemetery, White Deer, Texas with her son-in-law, Rev. Monte Kreis, officiating.She was born February 4, 1920, in Childress, Texas and married Bazel B. Pettit in McLean, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1968.Ila attended school in Childress and Pampa. She and her husband owned and operated Pettit Department Store in White Deer for many years. In 1973 she moved to Amarillo and lovingly worked as the Activity Director for Olsen Park Manor for 20 years. In 2008 she moved to Stanton to be near her daughter.Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie Kreis and husband, Monte of Stanton; one son, Gary Pettit of Pampa; one brother, Bob Green and wife, Sarah of Louisville, Kentucky; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by her parents; and seven brothers and sister.Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
