Ida Lou Finney, 84, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, in a local nursing home. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 4 until 6 PM Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring St., in Midland. Ida Lou was born on July 5, 1920, in Loraine, Texas, the youngest of nine children. She was born on a ranch and was raised there during her early life. Ida Lou married William Maurice Conrad on January 13, 1946 in Midland. Mr. Conrad passed away in November of 1986. On July 28, 1969, Ida Lou and Weldon Thomas Finney were united in marriage. The couple moved to Houston in 1970 and lived there a number of years prior to moving to Tyler where they retired. They moved back to Midland later to be near family. She was a nature lover, including gardening, and was especially partial to her roses. Ida Lou is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Burnett of Benicia, CA and Mauri Cauthen of Midland, TX; two granddaughters, Stacy Burnett of Austin, Tiffany Watters and husband Lance of Midland ; one grandson, Blake Cauthen of Midland;one great-grandson, Landon Watters, and one sister, Roberta Miller of Helena, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Haven for all their loving care.Memorials be made to Home Hospice, 901 W.
