Hubert Franklin "Frank" Russell, 77, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, April 2, 2005, in a local nursing home. Hubert Franklin "Frank" Russell, 77, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, April 2, 2005, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dalton Froman, son-in-law, and Pastor R.T. Havener, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.Mr. Russell was born on April 30, 1927, in Ft. Worth and married Gladys Ann Evans on April 19, 1947 in Snyder, Texas. He worked as a mechanic, heavy equipment operator, foreman and superintendent for Bettle and Womack Construction for thirty-one years.Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Frank served in the United States Army during World War II in the special forces unit and received the Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He was a longtime member and deacon of the First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed country living, animals, baseball, football and especially gardening.Survivors include his wife, Gladys Russell of Big Spring; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sherry Russell of Waco, and Greg and Tami Russell of Hobbs, New Mexico; three daughters and one son-in-law, Carol Russell of Mesquite, Karen Gallagher, and Janie and Dalton Froman all of McKinney; five brothers, Joe Russell of Venus, Earl Russell of Grandview, Edwin Russell of Tyler, Don Russell of Alvarado, and James Russell of Ft. Worth; four sisters, Lee Curtis of Phoenix, Arizona, Joyce Edgett of Oklahoma, Pearl Everett of Thornton, and Pat Pierce of Portland, Oregon; a special friend, Debbie Russell of Sherman; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; three brothers and a son-in-law.
