Joyce: Sounds like Howard Herbert was a great man. Our heart goes out to you and your family. Anne's Dad died on her birthday. There always seem to be a few mixed emotional feelings at times like these. I hope we get to visit with you soon. Henry

My condolences, to the Petrich family. I worked with Howard in McAllen at Shell, in the 80's and 90's and always enjoyed visiting with him. We talked a lot about Stacy and his Memorial football and Texas Tech years. Howard was a great man.

Dear Joyce and family,Just a brief note to express my deep sympathy for you and the family. Your time here in Hallettsville was brief, but obviously life-changing since you met Howard here. I have missed our little get-togethers after school at Chinky's house and the trips to the beach when school was out for the summer. Memories fade, but the bonds remain. May God be with you during the days ahead. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Petrichs: Our hearts are broken for you all as we hear this news of Howard's passing. Such great memories are being shared by all of us as we reminisce about days gone by and all the connections we had with your family. Granny (Martha, soon to be 82) is trying to figure out how she is going to get to Midland by Thursday! Of course, I jest but truly she did have a sad face when she read the obituary and saw that his services would be there instead of closer to Hallettsville. Stacey has always held a special place in her heart and if she could she would certainly be there with you to pay her respects and show her love. Just know that we all send our prayers and hugs to you at this time. God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand.
