Howard Dale Williams, 91 of Midland, passed away on Friday, May 16th. Memorial Service will be 2:00 Saturday, June 7th at Kelview Heights Baptist Church in Midland.
Howard (Dale as some knew him) was born on August 17, 1933 in San Angelo to Leona McLendon Williams. His family moved to Kermit in 1936 where he graduated from Kermit High School in 1952. He went to Rice University to play football in the fall of 1952. In December 1953 he joined the Army where he was an AAA Gun Mechanic. While in the Army, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in December 1955. By that time his family had moved to Odessa where he went to work for Pioneer Natural Gas in 1956. In 1962 he moved to Midland where he met his soul mate Doris in 1966. After dating for several years Howard and Doris were married in 1973.
Howard is survived by his son Kevin Williams of Midland, nieces Susan Hengst of Houston, and Laura Talafuse of Florissant, Colorado.
Howard is preceded in death by his wife Doris Williams, his mother Leona Williams, two brothers John and Marion Williams, his sister Mary Perry, and his niece Carol Garland.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hospice of Midland and Cimarron Place in Midland for their exceptional care in the last years of his life.
