Horace L. Putman, 74, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with John Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home, 3800 N. Big Spring St. in Midland.He was born on May 6, 1931, in Athens, Alabama and married Mary Alice Skinner on July 19, 1952, in Rayville, LA. Horace lived in Midland for over 40 years. He loved to work on his cars and to go fishing but most of all he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He attended the Westpark Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his wife, Mary Putman of Midland; son, Larry Putman and wife Karen of Midland; daughter, Susan Seay and husband David of Dothan, Alabama; four grandchildren, Keith Putman of Midland; Laura Rainey and husband Scott of Midland; Jonathan and Jeffrey Shedden both of Dothan, Alabama; two great grandchildren, Marcus and Janae Rainey; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Roy Greer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Noah & Emma Putman and one sister Betty Putman. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
