Homer Henson, 78, of Stanton, died on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Downtown Church of Christ with John Snider, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the funeral home.Homer was born on September 13, 1934, in Stanton and married Bobbie Rowe on August 29, 1954 in Stanton. He was born, raised, lived and died on the family farm. He loved to hunt and fish and was the Martin County Commissioner for eight years.He was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Henson of Stanton; one son, Dale Henson of Houston; daughter-in-law, Molly Henson of Midland; one granddaughter, Rael Dyal of Twin Cities, Georgia; four grandsons, Sam Henson of Duluth, Georgia, Jonathan Henson and wife, Mary of Midland, Cpl. Zachary Henson, USMC of Okinawa, Japan, and Isaac Henson of Midland; one sister, Mary Ivy Briggs of Midland; and one brother, Guy Henson of Hanford, California. He was preceded in death by one son, Tony Henson; and one grandson, Whit Henson.
