Homer Dale BryantDale Bryant was born November 11, 1925 and passed away Monday, May 18, 2015. Dale was the eighth of 9 children born to William and Hattie Bryant and the last to join them all in heaven. He was born in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, graduated from McAllen High School and worked for the Puryear’s Shoe Store in McAllen.Dale was called to serve his country in WW2 aboard a troop transport ship, the USS Sarasota, in the Pacific. He returned to McAllen after his service to work again at Puryear’s. He met and married Jo Nelle Tippen and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year.Dale and Jo were blessed with three daughters, Pam Bryant Collins (Terry), Chellye Bryant Tanberg (Scott), Kim Bryant Moore and one son, Michael Dale Bryant (Nancy). He was also “PawPaw” to grandchildren, Lara Jayne Collins Perry (Todd), Marc Tanberg, Erin Tanberg Lloyd (Mike), Krystal Moore, Robyn Bryant Ramos (Ryan), Jennifer Bryant and great-grandchildren, Morgan Perry, Bryant Perry, and Caleb Lloyd.After Dale and Jo retired, they moved to Midland in 2001 and thoroughly enjoyed being near family and all the many new friends they made. His retirement years were full of his favorite hobbies; reading, cooking, listening to classical music and operas and watching old episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond and Frazier.There will be no local services, but the family thanks all the nurses, doctors and Home Hospice for Dale’s care at Midland Memorial Hospital.
