Hollis O. Glaspie, 85, of Midland, died on Saturday, April 17, 2004, in a Midland hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 19, 2004 at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton with Rev. Jerry Berry, pastor Kelview Heights Baptist Church, officiating. He was born on April 12, 1919, in Delta County, Texas and married Helen Clanton on September 29, 2000 in Midland. Mr. Glaspie worked for the Southwestern Company and Dixon Paper Company as a Sales Manager for many years. He had served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Hollis loved to work in his pecan orchard and also loved gardening. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Helen Glaspie of Midland; one daughter, Evelyn Glaspie of Fort Davis; one granddaughter, Caroline Crowley; one brother and Sister-in-law, Jim and Sandy Glaspie of San Angelo; four sisters, Ruth Holcombe of Stanton, Virginia Ringener and her husband, Jr. of Big Spring, Melba Brewer of Odessa and Peggy Fitzgerald and her husband, Bob of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Sandra Fryar and her husband Larry; two step-sons, Kenny Clanton and his wife Sylvia of Colorado City, Jimmy Clanton and his wife Sherry of Big Spring; six step children; four step grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Estelle Glaspie; two brothers, Harold and Claude Glaspie and one sister, Imogene George. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association 3205 W.
