Hiawatha Hallford, 71, of Midland, passed away on December 23, 2006 at the Hospice House Facility in Odessa. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tim Walker officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, 3800 N. Big Spring St. in Midland.She was born on August 15, 1935 to Orby and Katy Sikes in Fisk, Texas. Hiawatha married Baker Hallford on September 1, 1954 in Portales, New Mexico. She grew up in Talpa and attended school there. Hiawatha loved the water and spent lots of time on the lake fishing and water skiing. She was a member of the Ranchland Hills Ladies Golf Association and the First United Methodist Church. Most of all she loved her family and her grandkids who called her ?NaNoo?. Survivors include her husband, Baker Hallford of Midland; a son Mike Hallford and his wife Brenda of Granbury; a daughter, Toni Drake and her husband Roy of Midland; four grandchildren, Michael and Lani Hallford, Noah and Mindy Holland, Mallory Ann Drake, and Sydney Drake; a brother, Don Sikes and his wife Beth of Lubbock; sisters, Nita Mathis of Lamesa and Patsy Hudgins and her husband Roger of Forsan; brother, Ronnie Sikes and his wife Sandi of Houston; two great grandchildren, Victoria Fairchild and Dylan Fairchild and one expectant great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Janet Brooks, and her mother and father in law, Rev. Johnny and Shirley Hallford.The pallbearers will be Randy Kuiper, Bubba Sullivan, Sam Buchanan, Cecil Pearce, Bill Dockrey, Jack McMillian, Benny Hofacket and Bob Pritchett,The family suggests donations be made to Home Hospice and the Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
