Hervey L. Gray, Jr., 84, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, May 3, 2009, in a local nursing home. No services are planned at this time.He was born on November 25, 1924, in Potter, Texas and married Martha L. Vincent on July 24, 1946 in Mooringsport, Louisiana. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2004.Hervey graduated from high school in Mooringsport, Louisiana and worked as a pumper for Gulf Oil Corporation for 38 years, retiring in 1978. He moved to Big Spring from Breckenridge in 2003. He was a Baptist.He served in the United States Army during World War II.Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Edwards and husband, Connie of Garden City; a son, Vincent L. Gray and wife, Vickie Adams of Big Spring; three granddaughters, Stefanie Park and husband, Daniel of Liberty Hill, Tonya Crenwelge and husband, Bret of Abilene and Shelby Gray of Odessa; and six great grandchildren.The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, % Carolyn Brooks, P.
