Herold Dexter Phillips, 82, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2005, at his residence. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church Glass Chapel with Rev. Jan Reed, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. He was born on January 24, 1923, in Hooker, Oklahoma to John and Harriet (Carmack) Phillips. He married Myrtle Imogene Ownbey October 16, 1944 in Kansas City, KS. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot, retiring in 1970 as Lieutenant Colonel. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He worked in real estate in Austin before retiring in Midland. Herold was a member of First United Methodist Church. Herold was devoted to his family.Survivors include his wife, Gene Phillips of Midland, two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Alice Phillips of Midland, and Ronald and Gloria Phillips of Pflugerville, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott Phillips, Steven Phillips, Ashley Phillips, and Taylor Phillips and 3 great-grandchildren, two sisters Joye Walters of Amarillo and Jewell Parker of Guyman, OK and numerous extended family members.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Midland, P.O.
