Herbert August Schuelke Jr.

Herbert August Schuelke, Jr., age 65 of Sweetwater passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 with family at his bedside.

He was born December 18, 1956 in Big Spring, Texas to parents Herbert and Frankie Schuelke.

Herbert August Schuelke Jr., known as “H. A.” and more recently as “H” was raised in Stanton, Texas where he attended school. He played football for the Stanton Buffalos and graduated in 1975. He went on to play football at Ranger College then played for the Graceland College Yellowjackets in Lamoni, Iowa. He transferred to Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas where he graduated with a degree in Agriculture Science. He worked for Bruton MFG and then worked for PCCA until he retired in March of 2021. Throughout H’s life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and camping with family. His kind generous spirit will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his mother, Frankie Schuelke, his aunts, Vivian Chandler and Colleen Leonard and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by (his father, Herbert Schuelke, his grandparents, O.A. and Allie Bell Schuelke and Carl and Emma Leonard.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, January 29, 2022, @ 1:00 pm at McCoy’s Funeral Home, 401 East Third St., Sweetwater, Texas.
