Henry Sanchez

Henry Sanchez, 62, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife and two children, on Friday September 4, 2026. His cancer returned after being in remission for two years. Visitation will be on Tuesday September 8^th, 9:00 am-9:00 pm, with family receiving guests from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. Rosary will be immediately following at 7:00 pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Henry was born in Lamesa, Texas on December 28^th, 1963 to Felix and Josephine Sanchez.

Henry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patsy Sanchez, daughter Amanda Islas (Jon), son Jared Sanchez, godson Nic Narbaiz (Barbara) and the light of his life, his only grandchild, Amelia Sara Islas. Henry and Patsy grew up together as their families were friends. They dated for two years prior to getting married, making their time together exceed the 45 years.

Henry is also survived by his sister, Lupe Yharte (Abraham) Midland, Texas, bother Ricky Sanchez (MJ) Boisie Idaho, sisters: Cecilia, Norma, and Sally (Midland Texas).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Josephine Sanchez and one brother, Johnny Joe Gomez.

Henry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. His most memorable trips were to Disneyland and Disneyworld. The Disney trips included what they called the Fab8 (Henry, Patsy, Jared, Amanda, Jon, Amelia, Nic, & Barbara). He also enjoyed spending Sundays at his niece Marlena Briseno’s home. There he and his brother Clemente Gomez enjoyed barbecuing, visiting, and playing cornhole. Henry had worked for Martin Nichols Farms for over 30 years and prior to that he was an independent welder, Sanchez Welding. He was raised old school and was always grateful for the many things his father taught him. Henry was a hard worker, a provider, a man of his word, a great husband and father, and loved being a Papa to his Little One (Amelia).

Pallbearers will be: Jared Sanchez, Nic Narbaiz, Jon Islas, Tito, Chuy, JC, and Daniel Gomez, and Billy Daves.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards ExcelaCare (Maira Garvin & Danielle) who were beyond caring and supportive. Gratitude to Martin & Leslie Nichols, BSI family, BSHS faculty & staff (Mr. Ritchey) & BSISD Administration (Mr. McWilliams, Ms. Scott, & Mr. Perez) for their understanding and support.
