Henry Herbert “Herb” Hall, 85, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019, in Midland, Texas. He was born March 3, 1934 in Vernon, Texas to Eli and Florence Hall.Herb coached all his children in their sports endeavors. He loved watching sports (especially football) until his final days, with a whole lot of Fox News thrown in between.He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Midland where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School. He was a beautiful example of Christ to his children, family and friends.He met Betty at Calvary Baptist Church and courted her long distance via letters, in which they played Battleship back and forth. He visited her when he could hitchhike his way to Shreveport. They were married on June 15, 1954.Herb’s charisma and outgoing personality fueled his success from student council president throughout his high school years to top sales in office equipment. He was a Canon dealer and traveled the world with Betty on award trips he won over the years.A few of Herb’s favorite things were: reading, Bible study, his kids, grandkids and great grandkids, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, Cheetos, queso, ice cream, popcorn and milkshakes. Most of all, he loved his Savior and looked forward to the Heavenly reunion he is enjoying right now.He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Hall; his parents; 5 older siblings; and his daughter-in-law, Robin Hall.He is survived by 2 sons, Randy Hall, and Dale Hall and his wife, Julie; 2 daughters, Brenda Parker and her husband, David, and Stacy Hilliard and her husband, Brent; 1 sister, Cathryne Priest; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.The family would like to thank the Joseph Department of First Baptist Church for their many calls, visits and cards, and the staff and nurses of Hospice of Midland for their care and compassion.The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory, 3800 N. Big Spring, Midland.A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: His Cherished Ones, c/o First Baptist Church, 2104 W.
