Henry F. Clingman passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home peacefully on February 4, 2013, just two weeks away from his 91st birthday, February 17, 1922. Henry was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Edward B. and Dora Johnson Clingman. He grew up with his fourteen brothers and sisters in Garvin and Cotton Counties in Oklahoma. In 1943 Henry was drafted to service for his country in World War II. He served on the USS West Virginia in the South Pacific until his discharge on January 4, 1946. He returned to Oklahoma and married Imogene Davis on June 23, 1946.Henry began his career in the oil industry in Lusk, Wyoming in 1946. His career led him to work for his brother Walter L. Clingman in Wyoming, R.L. Manning in Wyoming, and Powell Brisco in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In the early 1950s Henry brought his family to Texas to work for BBM Drilling Company. He later worked for MGF Drilling Company. He retired in the 1980s after working with Allen K. Trobaugh for approximately twenty years. After retirement Henry continued to do consultation work for Trobaugh Properties for several years. Henry is survived by his wife of 66 years Imogene, his daughters Jean Ann Clingman of Midland, Rita Brandon (Charlie) of Lakehills, TX, and Sue Holley (Doug) of Meadowlakes, TX. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Megan Clingman of Monahans, TX, Kati (Andy) Grimsley of Eunice, NM, PFC Garet Holley (Tesia) of Meadowlakes, TX, and Sara Gonzales (Adam) of Austin, TX. Jude Gonzales and Sawyer Holley also survived their Great-Papa. Henry is also survived by his sister Theta of Temple, Oklahoma and a host of extended family and friends. Henrys son David predeceased his father in February 2011. Visitation is planned for Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6:30-8:00 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Henrys brothers-in-law Rev. Tommy Davis and Rev. Robert Williams will lead family and friends in a celebration of Henrys life on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 1:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. The family wants to extend their sincere gratitude to Nurses Unlimited, Dr. Paul Best, Home Hospice, and Hands of an Angel for their gentle care. Memorials may be given to the Building Fund of Crestview Baptist Church, 301 N. Loop 250 West, Midland, TX, 79703.
