Helen lived across the sidewalk from my own darling mom , Polly Marchbanks, at Chandelle. They were great friends. Most of the time, Mama couldn't walk very well, so Helen checked in on her every day. Sometimes when Mama was having a good day, they would load up in Helen's Buick and go to HEB and buy themselves an Ambrosia cake. They loved to share it with me when I'd stop by in the afternoons. Unfortunately, Mama fell one night and never got well enough to move back into her little condo, Helen would drive over to Saddleridge to visit her on the week-ends sometimes. Mama always looked forward to her visits. Helen was always so sweet and gracious to Mama, and she was never without a smile. I'm afraid I didn't see her as much as I should have after I lost my mother, but I will always remember her and her kindness to us. God bless you, Helen.

The Skvorc family lived in the next block from me back in the 40's, in Oklahoma City. I don't know that I actually met Helen, but if she is like the rest of the family would truly be a great friend and mentor. Ours prayers are with the famil.

Helen spoken often of the time I had invited her over for the 4th of July. She liked the small American & Texas Flags sitting on the dinner table. I would visit her a couple times a week and I would pick her up and take her to church next door to where she lived. I've known her for many years and what I remember most was her contagious laugh which would brighten up any room. She was a thoughtful and kind person. My life was made richer just by knowing her.
