Helen Louise Tubbleville, 84, of Midland, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Helen was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 25, 1939 to Edward Owen Brinkley and Margaret Elizabeth Brinkley. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1957 and married her childhood sweetheart, Bobby McCanless on December 23, 1957. Together they had two daughters, Kit and Sharon, and later became legal guardians to Caran Jenkins.
Over the years, Helen became very active with the San Jacinto Girl Scouts and was the leader/co-leader for Brownie Troop 1, Junior Troop 1404 and Cadette Troop 266. She was also a very active member of the Channelview Church of Christ. In 1980 she decided to go back to work in banking and was hired in the bookkeeping department. She dedicated nineteen years to her work at the bank and was promoted several times during her tenure.
Two years following the death of her husband, Bobby, she married Don Tubbleville. They moved to Midland, Texas in January, 2000 and made their life together.
Helen is survived by daughters Kit Buckingham, Sharon Lovdahl and Caran Waldrop; grandchildren Beau Walker, Zachary Buckingham, Nicholas Buckingham and Crysti Naim and four great grandchildren.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents Edward Brinkley and Margaret Templeton, first husband Bobby McCanless, second husband Don Tubbleville and grandson, Jeremy Yates.
