Hazel Parks was born July 8th, 1936, in Blossom, Texas, to Mack and Willie Bell Stafford. Hazel passed away peacefully Saturday, July 10, 2021, with the spirit of her children by her side.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, George D. Parks Jr. (Janice) of Odessa, Regenal Parks and Gregory Parks (Amy) of Midland, Eric Parks (Betty) of Frisco, Tx. She leaves 17 grandchildren, Dani, Alex, Jacob, Timothy, Cory, Cynthia, Latoya, Eian, Josh, Courtney, Nicole, Lorrid, Aaron, Misty, Derrick, Brian, Toni and Tracy. 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
She was a spiritual mother, wise counsel and prayer warrior for many. She shared a special bond with her daughters-in-law, Yolanda Parks and Trish Wright, and her special friends Evelyn and Bobby Hicks, and Jennifer Carpenter and family of Midland Tx.
Hazel attended Carver High school and continued her education at Permian College of Odessa and used that education to work with MISD as a teacher’s aide. She was also employed for many years as a guidance counselor with a special focus on family planning at Permian Planned Parenthood. She served the community with the outreach program and was a champion for women’s health.
Her beauty, strength, wisdom and her ability to provide solace and comfort to everyone she met, will be missed but carried forever in the hearts of those who loved her and knew her well.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 17th at 9:00 am at Alexander Temple COGIC, 200 N. Tyler, Midland, TX. Burial will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
