Hazel J. Turner, 90, of Remlap, Alabama, formerly of Big Spring, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at her residence. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.She was born November 8, 1927 in Spur, Texas. Hazel was a longtime resident of Big Spring and moved to Alabama in 2013, but she always considered Big Spring home. She enjoyed sewing and was known around town for her sewing skills.Hazel was a member of Berea Baptist Church before moving.Survivors include her husband, William “Dub” Turner of Remlap, Alabama; three children, Orvie Jordy and wife, Karen of Roseburg, Oregon, Juanita Shaeffer of Waco and C. W. Jordy and wife, Darla of Remlap, Alabama; one brother, Billy spears of San Angelo; a son-in-law, Carroll Hoyle of Blackwell; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bruce Jordy; one daughter, Peggy Hoyle; two brothers; and five sisters.The family suggests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
