Harvey Dick Harmon, 49, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at his residence. No services are planned at this time. Harvey was born on December 28, 1961, in Ft. Worth, Texas.He was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and served in the United States Navy in Norfolk, Virginia. He pursued various interests until he became medically disabled.Survivors include one son, Harvey Dick Harmon, Jr. of Odessa; one sister, Kenda Heckler of Andrews; fiance, Janell Baker of Big Spring and two cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Dick Harmon and Frances Joye Minchew.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. My heart was saddened to hear the loss of Harvey. Unexpected is more like it. I don't know what health problems he faced, but the Harvey I knew back in school was strong, funny, caring and would do anything for my dad around the house! I remember when he let me sit next to him in his car and let me steer teaching me to drive and I cut someone off and hit the car. He stood up for me. Now that's a good boyfriend. I've never forgotten that. His journey didn't stop here on earth, it's just started forever in eternity. So Harvey-Journey on my friend and say hi to all our friends and family that have gone on before us until we meet again.
