Harry V. Rawlings, 75, of Midland, died on Saturday, March 23, 2002, in a Big Spring hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland with Rev. Eddie Edwards, associate pastor of Kentucky Street Baptist Church, officiating. He was born on August 29, 1926 in Ripley County, Missouri and married Patsy Perry on June 11, 1954 in Dean, Texas. Harry was born and raised in Ripley County, Missouri. He graduated from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls with a major in Geology and Biology. He worked as a U. S. National Park Ranger for Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico, the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona, for Mannassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia and in Yosemite National Park in California. He also owned and operated Cloud 9 Upholstery Shop in Midland. Mr. Rawlings was a musician and loved music and had several country western bands. He was a man of many talents and mastered them all. He was a member of Kentucky Street Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Rawlings of Midland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bret Beach of Wilson, North Carolina and Donna and Scott Brownlee of Midland; one son, Harry V. Rawlings II of Midland; one brother, Arthur Rawlings of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister and nephew, Easter Woodruff and Gary Woodruff of Doniphan, Missouri; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and George Wirz of Lubbock; and five granddaughters, Rachel, Rebecca, Sondra, Jennifer and Anika. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Clara Britton; one brother, Ennis Rawlings; and a grandson, Joseph Brownlee.
