Harold J. Jenkins, 62, of Midland, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007, in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Calvary Assembly Of God Church, 908 South Johnston Street, in Midland with Rev. Randall McDonald, Pastor, officiating.He was born on December 5, 1944 to Lynn Jenkins and Johanna Neely Jenkins. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Marilyn June Schubring on July 6, 1984 in Merrill, Wisconsin. They moved to Grand Prairie in 1993 from Merrill, Wisconsin and then to Midland in 1997. He worked as a truck driver, worked for I.T.C. Trucking as a shop supervisor in Merrill for 10 years, worked for C-1 Professional Driver Training in Grand Prairie for 2 years, and worked for International Schools at Odessa College as the lead truck driving instructor for 8 years in Odessa. He was a member of Calvary Assembly Of God Church. Survivors include wife, Marilyn Jenkins of Midland; daughter, Tammy Harvey and husband Jack of Midland; daughter, Tammie Vass and husband Dennis of North Carolina; daughter, Tracy Petersen and husband Bob of Mosinee, Wisconsin; brother, Howard Jenkins and wife Ethelynn of Oregon; brother, Jerold Jenkins and wife Donna of New London, Wisconsin; sister, Ruth Smith and husband James of Washington; sister, Doris McCluski of Wisconsin; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Annette Frost. Though we haven't seen you in years, we will miss you. My god be with you Marilyn in your time of need. Rest in peace Harold. With our deepest sympathy.

If you noticed, I put Harold as friend first, then his Pastor. Harold never really stepped foot into the church due to his sickness, but he was truely devoted to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Not only did he accept the Lord and the pardon of his sins in the Hospital, but we also baptized him there as well. Wow, what an expierience! Tears flowed freely that night. Then came the request to join Calvary in membership. The Deacon Board voted 100% to accept him and Marilyn into full membership, even though he might not ever get to come to church again. Harold, you are now a member of an eternal church in which we all hope to be members of some day! If we accept Christ as Lord and Savior, we will join you as soon as possible. (I know this was a little lengthy, but what do you expect from a preacher!!) To those who read this and do not know Christ and the forgivness of sin. All you have to do is ask Him. I promise you, He will forgive you if you ask. You can do it right there while reading this tribute to Harold. Just say "Forgive me Jesus". You just traded your sins for His Salvation. That's a good trade if you ask me: Harold would agree!

I will miss you dad but I know we will all be together some day in God's Glory. Here is a poem for you. When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much yo0u gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have shown. So greive awhile for me, if you must, then let your greif be dcomforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part, so bless the memories within you heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call an I will come, though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near And, if you listen with your heart, you'll hear ALL OF MY LOVE around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile, an "Welcome you Home" I Love you Harold. God Bless!!

Gramma Marilyn and momma (Tammy) and family, I was so sorry to hear of Grampa Harold's passing. I know he is in a much better place and I know that doesn't ease the pain you feel in his passing. Know that I am just a phone call away and have you all in my prayers and thoughts. May the Heavenly Father surround you with peace and comfort in knowing that all things are in His control and care. I've sat here and cried tears of sorrow in this loss but also tears of joy, knowing what he is experiencing right now. Knowing that he is in the greatest of places and knowing that he will be waiting on all of us to join him one day! I love you all and miss you more! God Bless! Aly

The Odessa College Truck Driving School would not be what it is today without Harold. Though I never had the privledge of meeting Harold, I feel that I know him through Marilyn. Harold thank you for your years of service, your dedication and your hard work and thank you for leaving us Marilyn to carry on your legacy at Odessa College in providing the same superior service and support to all students past, present and future. You will be greatly missed!

Harold Will dearly be missed by me and all who took the truck driving course,I will miss his voice . When you would drive and he would say, what did that sign say, to see if you were paying attention. Especially calling me speedy for being to quick to drive . I will miss you and hope that you will teach god to drive .

Harold became a good friend the day he came to work with us at International Schools. We will miss him and that infectious smile of his. Goodbye my friend.

to my friend and coworker i write to you today not to say goodby but to say will see u soon someday. i do not come to mourn ur death but to celebrate your life. for today ur truly living life to the fullest. God has seen fit to take u from us because he needed u there with him. your job here on earth has been completed and now he needs you with him.you have touched so many lives and didnt even realize the effects you had on them. you are not gone but will live in the hearts and memories of everyone that u came in contact with. you will be missed but not forgotten. now enjoy your life where u are resting in the arms of Jesus and breathe the air with all u have and walk on the streets of gold . we love u and will miss you but we are celebrating the life u left for us to enjoy and the memories. love you an enjoy.see you when God calls all of us to be reunited.

You will be greatly missed. It gives me comfort to think that you and Tom are sitting around up in heaven trying to figure out what kind of mischief you can get into or trying to figure out what you can build or invent, or how you can watch over us because that was the type of person you both were.

I cried tears of sorrow when the ambulance took Harold one Christmas Eve, because he wouldn't be home for Christmas. Today I cried tears of joy knowing his suffering has ended. RIP Harold.
