Harold Glenn Henley passed away May 9, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He was born October 9, 1926 in Scurry County, Texas to Thomas and Mamie Henley. He graduated from Ira High School in 1944 and served in the Army during World War II.He met and married Joan Saunders in January of 1948 and they spent the next 18 months living on the river as river riders at Black Gap in Big Bend Park. After farming in Scurry County and 2 years in Garden City, he and Joan moved to Stanton in 1961 and remained there for 39 years. He farmed, ranched and enjoyed roping for many years and always loved a good horse and good rain. He married Zelda Cline in May of 2000. They had 12 years of fun and dancing.Harold is survived by his wife, Zelda; daughters, Linda Chapman (Hal) of Terry, Mississippi, Connie McMorries and Judy Leary (Pat) of Midland; son, Puncher Henley (Brenda) of Stanton; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one sister Katherine Minnick (Andrew) of Lubbock.He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan and sister, Louise Poston.Visitation will be Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.
