Harold Edward Coulter, 84, of Midland, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the First United Methodist Glass Chapel in Midland with Dr. Tim Walker officiating.Harold was born on May 27, 1929 to Bonnie and Edward Coulter in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He graduated from Southern Arkansas University in 1951 with a degree in Business Economics. While attending Southern Arkansas University Harold met and married Ruth Nelson on October 14, 1951. After graduating college Harold was employed by Warren Petroleum Corporation of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Elcor Chemical Corporation in Van Horn, Texas. Harold retired as a business owner and operator of the Van Horn Super Market and also the Home Furniture Store in Van Horn. Harold was a devoted man in whatever he was doing whether it was being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, or church member. He had a deep faith in God and made sure that his home stood on a strong Christian foundation. He was a quiet, gentle and generous man that truly lived by the greatest commandment to love God with all his heart, soul and mind in every situation.Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth Coulter; son Mike Coulter (Carol); daughter Robin Payne (Don); daughter Lynn Lovorn (Neil); and daughter Dana Hedrick (James); 10 grandchildren, John Coulter (Nicki); Derek Coulter (Christine); Nathan Coulter (Sarah); Cody Lovorn; Kyle Lovorn (Sierra); Matthew Lovorn (Kelsey); Kelly Ritchey (Ian); Coulter Payne; Austin Hedrick and Ashley Hedrick; and 6 great- grandchildren; brother, Joe Coulter (Dean); and niece, Renee Nelson.The family suggests memorials be to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland, Texas, 79702 or First United Methodist Church of Midland Fellowship Sunday School class nursing scholarship fund, 300 North Main Street, Midland, Texas 79701.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Midland.
