Harold B. Odom, 75, of Denton, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Burt Bronaugh, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.Harold was born on September 8, 1933, in Brownwood, Texas and then came to Big Spring as an infant with his parents, Roy and Oneita Odom. He grew up here and graduated from Big Spring High and then attended Howard County Junior College. Harold also attended Texas Tech University. Before finishing he joined the United States Navy as a pilot and retired from the Naval Reserves as a Commander. Harold then went back to college to finish his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at North Texas State University in 1963. He worked as an airline pilot for Pan American for 25 years.He had a passiontalking about natural health care. He also loved to talk about and take his nieces and nephew on ski trips.Survivors include two brothers, Paschal Odom and wife, Lucy of Big Spring, and James Roy Odom and wife, Dolores of Ft. Worth; four nieces, Deborah Griffin and husband, Earl of Aledo, Darla Deviney of Springtown, Diane Dorsey and husband, Don of Brock, Jill Spannaus and husband, Mark of Midland; one nephew, Jack Odom and wife, Laura of Early; seven great nieces; and one great nephew.
