Harmon Lee Rex, 76, of Odessa, passed away December 29, 2014. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Eisenhower Church of Christ in Odessa.Harmon Rex was born June 3, 1938 in Snyder, TX to Virgil Rex and Cora Gleghorn. He graduated from Abilene High School. In 1965, Harmon married Jackie Mae Guy. Harmon worked in Odessa for 49 years. He worked as a welder for the first 28 years, then as a maintenance supervisor for Wal-Mart for 11 years. Harmon then worked for Weidner Properties, where he was awarded employee of the year, until he retired in 2008.Harmon loved church and was a member of the Eisenhower Church of Christ in Odessa, where he loved to volunteer. He enjoyed being with family, camping, fishing, and being with his grandkids.Harmon is survived by his wife, Jackie Rex; son, Marty Rex of Odessa, TX; five grandchildren, Doc Rex and Morgon Rex, of Odessa TX, Garrett Rex, Cody Rex and Sydney Rex, of Prairie View, AR; brother and sister, Larry and Mary Guy of Abilene, TX; niece; Lari Dee Guy; and nephew, Tommy Guy and his wife, Misty and their children, of Abilene, TX.He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wesley Rex; and one sister, June Chick.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the benevolent fund Eisenhower Church of Christ, 807 East 21st Street, Odessa, TX 79761; Odessa Christian School, 2000 Doran Drive, Odessa, TX 79761; or to a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
