H. O. "Hack" Hudgins, 83, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2003, in local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Gene Craven, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.He was born on December 21, 1920, in Van Zant County, Texas and married Katherine Morrison on February 7, 1942 in in Big Spring.Hack came to Howard County with his family at the age of three from Van Zant County. He was employeed with Cosden Oil and Chemical and Fina for 42 years, retiring in 1982.He served with the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II.He was a member of First Christian Church.Survivors include his wife, Katherine Hudgins of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Dolores Hudgins of Abilene; two brothers, Pete Hudgins of Big spring and A. C. Hudgins of Carbon; one sister, Dorothy Barnhill of Graham; two granddaughters, and a number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one son, Jodell Hudgins in 1980.The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
