H. L. Shipp, 95, of Stanton, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church of Stanton with Rev. When our girls were little, they would be in Elaine and DA's backyard playing and they would always watch over the fence for "Mr Boat's" hat so they could talk to him. Our girls are grown and married but still refer to him as Mr Boat. They loved him as we did. He will be missed.
