Guy Zant, 56, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, January 26, 2008, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Gaylon Lamb, minister of Ackerly Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at the Vealmoor Cemetery.He was born on July 24, 1951, in Howard County, Texas and married Patricia Underwood on August 19, 1971 in Vealmoor, Texas.A lifetime resident of Howard County, Guy loved farming, hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, attending stock shows and working cattle. He enjoyed baseball, football, cooking, music, welding and especially the time he spent with his family. He always had a big smile and a firm handshake for everyone.Guy had been a member of Vealmoor Church of Christ until it closed and was currently attending Ackerly Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife, Patricia Zant of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Guy Will and Amy Zant of Big Spring; one granddaughter, Zadie Kate Zant of Big Spring; his parents, Joe Don and Dena Zant of Vealmoor; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Diane Zant of Big Spring and Sheila and David Armstrong of Vealmoor and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Don, Jr. and Kelly Zant and Ty and Mindy Zant all of Vealmoor, and numerous nieces and nephews.The family suggests memorials be made to the Borden County EMT's or the West Texas Boys Ranch, 10223 Boys Ranch Road, San Angelo, Texas 76904-9989.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
